DTC Troubleshooting: 10, 16

LKAS Control Unit DTC 10:
 F-CAN Communication with the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Unit Malfunction
LKAS Control Unit DTC 16:
 F-CAN Communication Malfunction (Packet Error of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Unit)
  1. Clear the DTC using the HDS.
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then turn it ON (II), and wait for 20 seconds or more.
  1. Watch the adaptive cruise control (ACC)/LKAS indicator.
Does the adaptive cruise control (ACC)/LKAS indicator come on?
YES -
Go to Step 4 .
NO -
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.■
  1. Check for DTC with HDS.
Is DTC 10 or 16 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 5 .
NO -
Do the appropriate troubleshooting for the code indicated.■
  1. Check for PGM-FI system DTCs with HDS.
Is DTC U0104 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 6 .
NO -
Check for loose terminals in the LKAS control unit connectors, and repair if necessary. If no poor connections are found, replace the LKAS control unit.
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
  1. Disconnect the LKAS control unit 26P connector and the adaptive cruise control (ACC) unit (20P) connector.
  1. Check for continuity between LKAS control unit 26P connector terminal No. 12 and adaptive cruise control (ACC) unit (20P) connector terminal No. 10.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Go to Step 9 .
NO -
Repair an open in the wire between the LKAS control unit and the branch of the F-CAN (CANH).■

  1. Check for continuity between LKAS control unit 26P connector terminal No. 25 and adaptive cruise control (ACC) unit (20P) connector terminal No. 20.
Is there continuity?
YES -
Check for loose terminals in the adaptive cruise control (ACC) unit connector, and repair if necessary. If no poor connections are found, replace the adaptive cruise control (ACC) unit.
NO -
Repair an open in the wire between the LKAS control unit and the branch of the F-CAN (CANL).■
