EVAP Two Way Valve Test
Special Tools Required
Combination gauge kit ( 07YAJ-0010610)
|1.||Remove the fuel fill cap.|
|2.||Remove the EVAP two way valve.|
|3.||Disconnect the vapor line from the EVAP two way valve (A). Connect it to the combination gauge kit and tube joint adapter and the vacuum pump (B) as shown.|
|4.||Apply vacuum slowly and continuously while watching the gauge.|
The vacuum should stabilize momentarily at 3.5 kPa (26.5 mmHg, 1.0 in.Hg).
If the vacuum stabilizes (valve opens) below 3.5 kPa (26.5 mmHg, 1.0 in.Hg), install a new valve and retest.
|5.||Move the vacuum pump from the vacuum fitting to the pressure fitting (A) as shown.|
|6.||Slowly pressurize the vapor line while watching the gauge. The pressure should stabilize momentarily above 1.0 kPa (8 mmHg, 0.3 in.Hg).|
