Sensors -Oxygen Sensor [KX model only] —- 1‘ Disconnect the connector of the oxygen sensort 2. Start the engine and warm up (or 2 rnlnutes at 3,000 rpm under_ no load. Raise the engine speed to 4,000 rpm and release the throttle suddenly at least 5 times. 3. Within one minute atter the engine has been warmed up, measure the voltagebetween the connector terminal and body ground as described in steps 4 and 5. NOTE: If it takes more than one minute to complete the checks, warm up the engine as in step 2 before continuing. 4e Raise the engine speed to 5,000 rpm, then lower to 2,000 rpm by operating the accelerator pedal. Voltage should be below 0.4 V. 5. Disconnect the vacuum hose (between the MAP sensor and the throttle body) from the throttle body; plug the opening in the throltle body. Cons nect a hand vacuum pump to open the end of the vacuum hose and apply 300 mian, and raise the engine speed to 4,000 rpm. Voltage should be above 06 V OXVGEN sensor: 45 N-m (4.5 korm, 33 Ila-R) 0 Replace the oxygen sensor if the voltages are out o! the above ranges. NOTE: o Avoid damaging the wire harness. - To prevent cross-threading, tirst tighten ringer tight, then tighten to the speellied torque With a torque Wrench. 0 Oxygen sensor does not operate when its intake is clogged. 0 Be extremely caretul not to spray anything over the oxygen sensor. -Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP)- Sensor 1. Disconnect the hose #21 from me mrottle body to the MAP sensor in the control box (on KX model, disconnect the vacuum hose between the MAP sensor and the throttle body) from the throt- tle body; plug the opening in the throttle body. Connect a vawum hand pump to the open end of the vacuum hose. VAClJUM PUMP/GAUGE Asnx—oal—xxxxx 2, Disconnect the connector item the control unit. Connect the system checker harness between the control unit and wire harness connector (No. O7999—PD6000A). 3. Turn the ignition switch ONt Connect a digital volt- meter positive probe to the C11 terminal of the system checker harness and negative probe to the CM terminal.
