A/T D3 Switch Circuit Troubleshooting

1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2.Disconnect the D3 switch/shift lock solenoid/park pin switch connector.

3.Check for continuity between D3 switch/shift lock solenoid/park pin switch connector terminal No. 5 and No. 6 at pressing the D3 switch.

Does the D3 switch continuity and no continuity between connector terminals at pressing the switch?

YES - Go to 6.

NO - Replace the D3 switch.n

4.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

5.Shift to the D position, and select D3 driving mode by pressing the D3 switch.

6.Measure the voltage between D3 switch/shift lock solenoid/park pin switch connector terminal No. 6 and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?

YES - Repair open in the wire between D3 switch/shift lock solenoid/park pin switch connector terminal No. 5 and ground (G451), or repair poor ground (G451).n

NO - Go to 7.

7.Measure the voltage between PCM connector terminal D3 and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?

YES - Repair open or short in the wire between PCM connector terminal D3 and D3 switch/shift lock solenoid/park pin switch connector.n

NO - Check for loose terminal fit in the PCM connectors. If necessary, substitute a known-good PCM and recheck.n
