Alternator Replacement

1.Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and navigation system, then write down the customer's audio presets.

2.Disconnect the negative cable from the battery first, then disconnect the positive cable.

3.Remove the front grille cover.

4.Disconnect the hood switch connector (A), and remove the harness clamps (B).

 

5.Remove the radiator upper bracket mounting bolts (A), A/C condenser bracket mounting bolts (B), and intercooler bracket mounting bolt (C), then remove the bulkhead (D).

 

6.Disconnect the A/C condenser fan motor connector (A), then remove the A/C compressor clutch connector (B) and water bypass pipe (C) from the A/C condenser fan shroud.

 

7.Remove the two bolts (D), and loosen the two bolts (E) securing the A/C condenser fan shroud, then remove the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (F).

8.Remove the drive belt.

9.Disconnect the alternator connector (A) and BLK wire (B), and remove the harness clamp (C) from the alternator.

 

10.Remove the four bolts, then remove the alternator oil shield (A) and the alternator (B).

 

11.Install the alternator in the reverse order of removal.

12.Install the A/C condenser fan shroud.

13.Install the A/C compressor clutch connector and water bypass pipe on the A/C condenser fan shroud, then connect the A/C condenser fan motor connector.

14.Install the bulkhead in the reverse order of removal. Apply body paint to the bulkhead mounting bolts.

15.Connect the hood switch connector, and install the harness clamps.

16.Install the front grille cover.

17.Connect the positive cable to the battery first, and then connect the negative cable.

18.Enter the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system, then enter the customer's audio presets.

19.Do the power window control unit reset procedure.

20.Set the clock.
