Air Separation Cover Replacement

1.Drain the engine coolant.

2.Remove the engine cover.

3.Remove the water bypass hose, then remove the air separation cover.

 

4.Remove all of the old liquid gasket from the air separation cover mating surfaces, bolts, and bolt holes.

5.Clean and dry the air separation cover mating surfaces.

6.Apply liquid gasket, P/N 08C70-K0234M or 08C70- K0334M, evenly to the cylinder head mating surface of the air separation cover.

NOTE: Do not install the parts if 4 minutes or more have elapsed since applying liquid gasket. Instead, reapply liquid gasket after removing the old residue.

 

7.Install the air separation cover in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE:
  • Wait at least 30 minutes before filling the expansion tank with engine coolant.
  • Do not run the engine for at least 3 hours after installing the air separation cover.

8.Refill the expantion tank with engine coolant, and bleed air from the cooling system with the heater valve open.
