Heater Outlet Cover Replacement

1.Drain the engine coolant.

2.Remove the engine cover.

3.Remove the sealing bolt (A) and washers (B).


4.Remove the heater hose, then remove the heater outlet cover (C).

5.Remove all of the old liquid gasket from the heater outlet cover mating surfaces, bolts, and bolt holes.

6.Clean and dry the heater outlet cover mating surfaces.

7.Apply liquid gasket, P/N 08C70-K0234M or 08C70- K0334M, evenly to the cylinder head mating surface of the heater outlet cover.

NOTE: Do not install the parts if 4 minutes or more have elapsed since applying liquid gasket. Instead, reapply liquid gasket after removing the old residue.


8.Install the heater outlet cover in the reverse order of removal. Always use new washers.

  • Wait at least 30 minutes before filling the expansion tank with engine coolant.
  • Do not run the engine for at least 3 hours after installing the heater outlet cover.

9.Refill the expantion tank with engine coolant, and bleed air from the cooling system with the heater valve open.
