ABS Modulator-Control Unit Removal and Installation

NOTE:

Removal


1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2.Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

3.Remove the expansion tank without disconnecting hoses.

 

4.Pull up the lock (A) of the ABS control unit 26P connector (B), and the connector disconnects itself.

 

5.Disconnect the six brake lines.

6.Remove the ABS modulator-control unit (C)/bracket (D) from the body.

7.Remove the three 6 mm shoulder bolts from the bracket, then remove the ABS modulator-control unit from the bracket.

Installation


1.Install the ABS modulator-control unit to the bracket, then tighten the three 6 mm shoulder bolts.

2.Install the ABS modulator-control unit/bracket to the body.

3.Align the connecting surface of the ABS control unit 26P connector.

4.Push in the lock of the ABS control unit 26P connector until you hear it click into place.

5.Connect the six brake lines.

6.Bleed the brake system, starting with the front wheels.

7.Install the expansion tank.

8.Start the engine, and check that the ABS indicator and brake system indicator go off.

9.Test-drive the vehicle, and check that the ABS indicator and brake system indicator do not come on.
