DTC Troubleshooting: 51, 52

DTC 51:  Motor Lock
  
  

1.Check the No. 3 (30 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box.

Is the fuse OK?


YES - Reinstall the fuse, and go to 2.


NO - Replace the fuse, and recheck.n


2.Disconnect the VSA control unit 47P connector.

3.Measure the voltage between the VSA control unit 47P connector terminal No. 1 and body ground.

 

Is there battery voltage?


YES - Go to 4.


NO - Repair open in the wire between the No. 3 (30 A) fuse and the VSA modulator-control unit.n

4.Check for continuity between the VSA control unit 47P connector terminal No. 47 and body ground.

 

Is there continuity?


YES - Go to 5.


NO - Repair open in the wire between the VSA modulator-control unit and body ground (G202).n


5.Reconnect the VSA control unit 47P connector.

6.Clear the DTC.

7.Test-drive the vehicle at 15 km/h (10 mph) or more.

Does the ABS indicator come on, and is DTC 51 or DTC 52 indicated?


YES - Replace the VSA modulator-control unit.n


NO - The system is OK at this time.n
