DTC Troubleshooting: 26

DTC 26:  Lateral Acceleration Sensor (Inside of Sensor Cluster)

1.Clear the DTC.

2.Turn the ignition switch OFF, then turn it ON (II) again.

3.Test-drive the vehicle around a number of corners.

4.Verify the DTC.

Is DTC 64 indicated?


YES - Do the appropriate troubleshooting for the DTC.n


NO - Go to 5.


5.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

6.Disconnect the VSA control unit 47P connector and sensor cluster 6P connector.

7.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

8.Measure the voltage between body ground and the VSA control unit 47P connector terminal No. 6, No. 25, No. 29, and No. 31 individually.

 

Is there 1 V or more?


YES - Repair short to power in the wire between the VSA control unit and the sensor cluster.n


NO - Go to 9.

9.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

10.Check for continuity between body ground and the VSA control unit 47P connector terminal No. 6, No. 25, No. 29, and No. 31 individually.

 

Is there continuity?


YES - Repair short to body ground in the wire between the VSA control unit and the sensor cluster.n


NO - Go to 11.

11.Check for continuity between the VSA control unit 47P connector terminal No. 6 and sensor cluster 6P connector terminal No. 1.

 

Is there continuity?


YES - Go to 12.


NO - Repair open in the wire between the VSA control unit and the sensor cluster.n

12.Check for continuity between the VSA control unit 47P connector terminal No. 31 and sensor cluster 6P connector terminal No. 5.

 

Is there continuity?


YES - Go to 13.


NO - Repair open in the wire between the VSA control unit and the sensor cluster.n

13.Check for continuity between the VSA control unit 47P connector terminal No. 29 and sensor cluster 6P connector terminal No. 2.

 

Is there continuity?


YES - Go to 14.


NO - Repair open in the wire between the VSA control unit and the sensor cluster.n

14.Check for continuity between the VSA control unit 47P connector terminal No. 25 and sensor cluster 6P connector terminal No. 3.

 

Is there continuity?


YES - Go to 15.


NO - Repair open in the wire between the VSA control unit and the sensor cluster.n


15.Substitute a known-good sensor cluster.

16.Reconnect all of the disconnected connectors.

17.Clear the DTC.

18.Test-drive the vehicle around a number of corners.

19.Verify the DTC.

Is DTC 26 indicated?


YES - Replace the VSA modulator-control unit.n


NO - Replace the sensor cluster.n
