DTC Troubleshooting: 17

DTC 17:  A Short in the A/C Pressure Sensor Circuit

1.Disconnect the A/C pressure sensor 3P connector.

2.Disconnect the heater control panel 36P connector.

3.Check for continuity between the No. 2 terminal of the A/C pressure sensor 3P connector and body ground.

 

Is there continuity?


YES - Repair short to ground in the wire between the heater control panel and the A/C pressure sensor.n


NO - Go to 4.


4.Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

5.Check for voltage between the No. 1 and No. 3 terminals of the A/C pressure sensor 3P connector. There should be 5 V.

 

Is the voltage as specification?


YES - Replace the  A/C pressure sensor.n


NO - Go to 6.

6.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

7.Reconnect the A/C pressure sensor 3P connector.

8.Check for continuity between the No. 1 and No. 9 terminals of the heater control panel 36P connector.

 

Is there continuity?


YES - Repair open in the wire between the heater control panel and the A/C pressure sensor.n


NO - Substitute a known-good heater control panel, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original heater control panel.n
