DTC Troubleshooting: 3-4
|DTC 3-4:||Short to Power in Left Side Seat Belt Tensioner|
Special Tools Required
SRS inflator simulator ( 07SAZ-TB4011A)
|1.||Erase the DTC memory.|
|2.||Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.|
Does the SRS indicator stay on?
YES - Go to 3.
NO - Intermittent failure, system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures.
|3.||Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes.|
|4.||Disconnect the TL1o connector from the TL1i connector (A).|
|5.||Connect the special tool (2 W connector) to the TL1i connector (A).|
|6.||Reconnect the battery negative cable.|
|7.||Erase the DTC memory.|
|8.||Read the DTC.|
Is DTC 3-4 indicated?
YES - Go to 9.
NO - Short to power in the left side seat belt tensioner; replace the left side seat belt.n
|9.||Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for 3 minutes.|
|10.||Disconnect the TR1o connector (A) from the TR1i connector (B).|
|11.||Disconnect the U2o connector (A) from the SRS unit.|
|12.||Disconnect the SRS inflator simulator (special tool) from the SRS simulator lead C.|
|13.||Reconnect the battery negative cable.|
|14.||Turn the ignition switch ON (ll).|
|15.|| Check for voltage between the A terminal of the SRS simulator lead C (special tool) and body ground, between the B terminal and body ground, between the C terminal and body ground, and between the D terminal and body ground. There should be 0.5 V or less.|
Is the voltage as specified?
YES - Faulty SRS unit; replace the SRS unit.n
NO - Short to power in the floor wire harness; replace the floor wire harness.n
