Measure the clearance between the lobes of the inner rotor and outer rotor [Figure 70-60-4].

If the clearance exceeds the allowable limit, replace the oil pump.
Measure the clearance between the outer rotor and pump body [Figure 70-60-5].

If the clearance exceeds the allowable limit, replace the oil pump.
Put a piece of press gauge on the rotor face [Figure 70-60-6].
Install the cover and tighten the bolts.
Remove the cover carefully. Measure the width of the press gauge [Figure 70-60-6].
If the clearance exceeds the allowable limit replace the oil pump.
